Happy Memorial Day friends!  I hope you’re enjoying the holiday today. I want to take a minute to remind everyone to thank a veteran today.  Although not all of our brave soldiers were lost in service, we owe them all a HUGE thank you for the service they provide our country.  Many men in my family have served, and I always think of them today.  My grandfather fought in World War II, my uncles have served, my brother served and spent a year in Iraq, and now my son in considering serving.  Let’s keep them all in our thoughts and prayers today. Now, back to businessRead More →

If you’re a regular reader here, it is no secret that I love to read.  I’ve written about it here and here.  I always have at least one book going, and sometimes two.  I’ve always been a reader and have (hopefully) instilled a love of reading in my boys as well.  So, I have read lots of books over the years.  Today, I’m sharing with you a few recent picks.  Maybe you will find one that sounds good to you too.  Alright, let’s get this show on the road. 🙂 ~ note~ I found all the book overviews at Barnes and Noble as well as theRead More →

Howdy friends.  It’s time to link up again with From This Side of the Pond for this week’s Hodgepodge.  As I read the questions this week I thought that this one was going to be tough.  #5 especially.    That’s okay, I still love participating each week.  So, without further delay, I’ll start answering. Hello friends!  It’s a Monday – again.  However, it’s my LAST Monday of the school year!  Summer is so close I can almost taste it. 🙂  So, how was your weekend?  I had a pretty low-key weekend.  We attended my nephew’s Rite of Passage – more on that later, had dinner with good friends, and a few crafty projects.  I also spent a little time on Netflix with my youngest.  Is anyone else watching 13 Reasons? Since it’s the end of the school year, and I am seriously running out of steam, the post I had planned for today isn’t ready.  So, I thought IRead More →
