Friday Favorites #2

Happy Friday!  I don’t know about you but I am  more than ready for the weekend.  This week has felt like a long one, and I am ready for some down time.  This Friday I’m linking up with Erika, Andrea, and Narci  again to share a few of my favorite things.  If you want to know my favorites from our last link up, you can find them here.

Here are this week's Friday favorites.

Celebrate Valentine's Day with these ideas.

Without a doubt my favorite thing this week is the ’14 Days of Love’ that I am doing with Mr. LouiseMarie.  I mentioned it here.  We are alternating days and doing something for the each other every day leading up to Valentine’s Day.  I have really had a ball planning my days for him, and it’s pretty fun to be on the receiving end as well.  This pic was borrowed from The Dating Divas where i saw the idea.  I made a similar heart out of post it notes on day 1.  It’s now day 9 and he still has those post its on the mirror.  Sometimes it’s the smallest gestures that mean the most. 🙂

These faceted-porcelain-vases are one of my Friday favorites.

So I found these geometric vases when I was browsing at West Elm.  I love that they have a matte finish in these soft colors.  As you can see, they come in a variety of sizes so would work almost anywhere.  I would love to have a small collection on a shelf.  I would pick the blush pink color.

These blue glass-vases-are one of my Friday favorites.

On that same shopping trip I found these blue glass bottles.  I love the variety of sizes and shades of blue.  I had to pick up a few for my coffee table, and it wouldn’t make me sad to have a couple more.  🙂

This peony-pleated-cuff-blouse is one of my Friday favorites.

It’s probably not a great thing that Loft emails me every day ~ sometimes more than once.  I’m a total sucker for when they say “sale.” So when I got that 40% off message, I had to hop over and take a look.  And look what I found!  How cute is this blouse.  I love the print with the cheery yellow poppies and the pleated cuffs.  It is a definite yes for me.    What do you think?

Old Navy striped blazer is one of my Friday favorites this week.

You can find this adorable blazer at Old Navy.  I love the fun stripes . It would dress up a simple tank and jeans, and it would work over a dress too.  I’ve always loved the look of jeans with a blazer, but I’ve never done it.  I may have to give it a try with this one.

This book is also a favorite lately. If you like psychological thrillers, you will love this.  I could not put it down!  I don’t want to give too much away, so I will leave you with this:

Amber Patterson is fed up. She’s tired of being a nobody: a plain, invisible woman who blends into the background. She deserves more—a life of money and power, like the one blond-haired, blue-eyed goddess Daphne Parrish takes for granted.

Trust me, go get it now.  You can find it here.

And finally, here’s a new favorite show we’ve been watching.  It’s on Amazon and we both love it!  If you haven’t heard of it, you should check out The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.  It’s about a 1950s housewife turned comedienne.  Since it was so funny, we binge watched this show in just a few days.

Have a great weekend!

Until next time ~

  1. I’ve been wondering what that show was all about! I keep hearing about it but have yet to try watching an episode or two.

    1. Author

Oh my goodness….go check it out. We have laughed out loud. It’s really funny & it’s fun to see life in the 50s & 60s. Let me know what you think.

  2. I’ve watched the first episode of Mrs Maisel and I can’t wait to watch more! Love those pretty blue vases. Thank you for being a part of the Hearth and Soul Link Party, Jenny.

I always love to hear what's on your mind. Please comment below!
