Hodgepodge

Hodgepodge

Happy Thursday!  I am so glad we are one step closer to the weekend.  Aren’t you?  I have jumped in with  From this Side of the Pond again this week to answer her Hodgepodge questions.  It’s always fun to see what she comes up with.  It’s even more fun to see what other bloggers write for their answers.  It’s funny how we read questions differently.  Anyway, without further ado, on to the questions.

1. April is Lawn and Garden Month. On a scale of 1-10 what’s the current state of your lawn and/or garden. (10=a showpiece, 1=send in the professionals). Tell us about any lawn or garden plans you have for this month.

If any of you live in Texas you know that the summer heat and crazy weather can make it hard to garden.  Also, the clay soil does not help.  That being said, we still try to have nice yard.  I wrote about our landscaping plans here.  Well, we’ve been working to make that plan a reality the last few weeks.  When I say we I mean Mr. LouiseMarie has been working.  Last weekend he added the mulch to the beds.   I would say now our backyard is a 6 – only because it needs to grow and fill in before it can become a 10.  However, it is going to be beautiful when it matures.  We will have different plants blooming in different seasons and all in different colors. I’m excited to watch it take shape.

2. “Many things grow in the garden that were never sown there.”~Thomas Fuller  What does this quote mean to you?

Well, I don’t know who Thomas Fuller is, but this question  makes me think it must be some poetry reference.  Anyway, I’m having visions of a girl and a boy walking through a garden and love growing between them.  Kind of like Pride and Prejudice or something.

If you’re me and Mr. LouiseMarie, working together in the garden might just grow exhaustion or frustration when you can’t agree on how to do it.  Rather, he doesn’t agree that your way is the right way. 🙂  #Icanbebossy

3. What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think about God?

His son Jesus.  When I try to think of  them separately, I suppose I think of God and creation.

4. If we were chatting in person, how would I know if you were nervous?

lady nervous eating a cracker

I don’t know if I show nerves likes that.  I’m pretty good at hiding it. Plus, if I’m just taking with someone one of one I don’t really get nervous.  Although, if I was nonstop munching on something at the same time, that may be a good indication of it.

5. Do you like the color yellow? Would I find any in your home or wardrobe? Daffodils, tulips, roses, sunflowers, day lily, black-eyed susan…which yellow bloom on this list is your favorite?

Well, I don’t dislike yellow, but you wouldn’t find a lot in my house.  I do have a painting of yellow flowers in my dining room though.  Not much in my closet.  My favorite bloom would be tulips with daffodils as second place.

6. Flip flops or bare feet?

Neither.  I don’t like going bare feet – it hurts my feet.   Flip flops are not too much better, AND they are not good for your feet.  Can you tell I’ve had foot issues?  Of course of all this doesn’t matter one bit if I’m at the beach.  Then it’s bare feet and flip flops all the way.  🙂

7. Tell us about any Easter plans, celebrations, or traditions you’ll carry out this month.

We will be gathering with my family ~ parents, brothers and their families, my sister and her family ~ for Easter dinner.  Dinner will be buffet style as thee is always such a large crowd. It will also be one where we all bring something to add to the dinner.  Not exactly a pot luck, more like an organized pot luck.  We will also have an Easter egg hunt for the little guys. It should be a lot of fun.  The ladies will sit on the patio and have cocktails and chat while watching the kids play.  I LOVE getting together with family.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

I love spring.  I love everything about it ~ the new blooms, the colors, the warm (not hot) temperatures.  However, I cannot wait until summer.  I cannot wait for lazy days with no schedule and plenty of time to work on projects.  I am counting down the days until the end of the school year. Is anyone else with me on that?  #Icanseethefinishline

Until next time~
