Hodgepodge ~ Falling & Failing

Hodgepodge ~ Falling & Failing

Holy Cow!  It’s Wednesday night (again) and that means it’s time to link up with From This Side of the Pond for this week’s edition of Hodgepodge.  I always wonder what each week’s questions will bring and if I’ll be able to come up with an answer.  At one point, I wanted to be clever in my answers.  Now, I just try to get them answered and posted on time. 🙂  Clever seems to be a bit out of reach currently.  In any case, I am happy to join in the fun and see how everyone answers these questions.

1. What’s something you’d rate a 10/10? Tell us why.

Ryan Reynolds for obvious reasons.

These booties – again – obvious, right?

An all-inclusive resort on a white sand beach.  Perfection.

2. What job would you be terrible at? What makes you think so?

Astronaut.  Just the thought of space gives me a headache.  The space exhibits at the museum give me anxiety – too much information that I don’t get.  I do not like entertaining the idea of other life forms in space, and  I cannot comprehend the vastness of space or really why we even care.

The men in my life cannot understand my lack of interest and unwillingness to discuss topics related to space.  Oh well,  to each her own.  My name is Jenny Louise Marie and I have zero interest in space.  #sorryNASA  #notsorry

3. When did you last take a fall? What’s something you’re falling for (in a good way) these days?

Truthfully, me falling is not all that uncommon…  it happens.  The last  time it happened was coming into school last year.  I’m not sure why, but all of the sudden it’s as if my ankles quit working as I was stepping up onto the curb.  AND, down I went onto my knees like a three-year old.  Can I just say, it took FOREVER for my knees to heal.  It was ugly.

These days I’m falling for pumpkin spice – again.  #cantstopwontstop  I love pumpkin spice everything.  And, I’m not even embarrassed about it. 🙂

4. According to the Travel Channel here are some of America’s best fall festivals-

National Apple Harvest Festival (near Arendtsville PA, close to Gettysburg), Harvest on the Harbor (Portland Maine), German Village Festival (Columbus Ohio), Wellfleet Oyster Fest (Cape Cod), and Wine and Chile Fiesta (Santa Fe NM)

Have you ever been to any of the festivals listed? Which one appeals to you most? Does your hometown have any sort of fall celebration, and if so will you make it a point to attend?

No, but they sound like fun …except for the oysters…no thank you.  I think the apple festival sounds fun. Although, anything on a harbor would be awesome.  In my area we have Grapefest ~ which is all about celebrating wine.  It’s a 3 day event with crafts, rides for kids, shopping, and wine tasting.  I usually go, but didn’t make it this year.  The problem around here is that it’s still pretty hot.  And by this point, I’m over the whole heat thing and don’t care to go frolic outdoors – unless it’s in water.

5. What is your goodbye message to summer?

It’s been nice, but it’s time to move along.  I will not miss your high temperatures or your heat index.  Oh, but summer, I will miss your lazy mornings and schedule free days.  I will look forward to your return in about 180 school days. 🙂

6. Insert your own random thought here.

I used to go to a cycle class 3-4 times a week.  I loved it.  Then, I moved and the gym just wasn’t as convenient.  I gave it up.  However, I missed it.  I decided to hit our community fitness center and get back on the bike recently.  I think I would really like to buy a Peleton bike.  Anyone out there have any opinion or advice on this?  I’d love to hear from you.

Until next time~
