Hodgepodge – May Wrap Up

Hodgepodge – May Wrap Up

So, if you’re a regular around here you might have noticed that I didn’t post for yesterday’s Wednesday Wonderings.  Believe me, it’s not that I had nothing on my mind, quite the opposite actually.  I was busy with graduation and wrapping up the school year.  Something had to be taken off my plate so that post got the old heave-ho.  Anyway, I’m back and it’s time for my weekly link up for this week’s Hodgepodge questions.  I felt like tackling these was something I could handle this week.  So, here goes.

1. What makes you feel accomplished? Explain.

My kids.  I almost hate to say this because it feels like I’m bragging – kinda.  My kids are terrific…really….I’m not biased at all. #totallybiased  My second just graduated high school and I am so happy with the way these boys are turning out.  They are smart, funny, have good character, and are hard workers.  No doubt that their future will be nothing short of amazing.

I cannot/should not take all the credit and say it’s all due to my parenting, but I think I can take partial credit.  I look at them and feel like I’ve done a good job.  #proudmom

Yep, they are goofy, but they’re mine. 🙂

2. If you had your own talk show, who would your first three guests be? Tell us why.

First off, I don’t think I would want to have a talk show.  However,  I am sure Jennifer Hatmaker and I could be best friends if we ever met.  I love everything she writes.  She makes me laugh out loud.  If you’ve never read any of her stuff, do yourself a favor and go order a book right now  Any of them.  You can’t go wrong.

Have you ever seen or watched Kathleen Madigan?  She’s a stand up comic.  I was only introduced to her recently.   She makes me laugh until my stomach hurts.  Maybe it’s her Irish Catholic family upbringing that I can relate to…  It doesn’t matter.  I think I could listen to her for hours.  I appreciate someone who makes me laugh.  Here’s another tip from me to you – look her up.  She is hilarious!!!

Could I say for guest #3 I would go for a group – all my best girlfriends.  We don’t get nearly enough time to just sit, chat, and laugh.  SO, maybe if I invited them onto my talk-show we could do some catching up.  You cannot replace girlfriends.

3. Do you have a great burger recipe? What’s in it? What do you like on a hamburger and where is your favorite spot to order one out?

Nope.  I am not the grill master at my house.  I leave all the meat cooking to Mr. LouiseMarie.  However, I do dress my burger with lettuce, tomato, avocado – and sometimes mayo.  I’m pretty basic.  I don’t have a favorite place to go – a burger’s a burger for me – excluding fast food.

4. What’s the biggest anxiety producing thing you do on a regular basis?

hmmm….trying on clothes.  Ridiculous, I know.  However, true or not true?  Trying on clothes has the ability to ruin your entire day.  At least for me.  I do love new clothes, but the process of visiting a dressing room and trying them on absolutely causes anxiety. If you’re think I need professional help for that one, you might be right.  Ha!  But, everyone’s got something weird, right?

5. This is the last Hodgepodge of May. Tell us about your summer plans.

I hope to take my whole family on vacation.  I’d like to try somewhere north where it’s not too hot.  I have my eye on northern Michigan.  I’d also like at least a long beach weekend.  Something about the beach soothes my soul.  Anyone else?  I will be working on house projects and reading some great books.  I have a long summer reading list.   AND,  have some plans for the blog that include some free printables.  Intrigued?  I hope so!

6. Insert your own random thought here.

I foresee a lot of this in my near future.  Sweet summertime!  What’s your favorite summer cocktail?

Okay friends, the next time you hear from me, I will be soaking in summer vacation.  I am counting down the hours!

Until next time~
