Our summer road trip included a stop on the Oregon coast at Coo's Bay.

Jenny Louise Marie Well hello there.  If you’ve been following along, this is the fourth post in my summer road trip series.  If you’re new around here, you can read more about our road trip here, here, and here.  Anyway, today’s post takes us to the Oregon coast, specifically Coo’s Bay.  If you live in the Pacific northwest, all I can say is that you are very, very lucky.  The beauty found here awed me, truly.  Let me tell you about our visit and share some tips if you’re planning a visit to this area. So, as you know, our family took a road trip circlingRead More →

One of my most cherished family traditions is that of our Thanksgiving tablecloth.

Jenny Louise Marie Good morning. I wrote and scheduled this post  for today before the events of yesterday unfolded.  Now, it seems so trivial to talk about this when so many others are deeply hurting.  My heart is heavy today.  It seems like a violent event is playing out on the TV every time I turn around.  This world we are living in makes it challenging to keep your faith, especially in light of what happened In a small town church in Sutherland yesterday.  Still I pray.  I am praying for our world and especially for anyone who has been touched by yesterday’s violence.  IRead More →

Jenny Louise Marie Today it’s all about fall and celebrating the season with a Fall Bucket List.  Why?  Well, I was at a party recently and was chatting it up with a sweet friend.  I have kind of kept my blogging life semi-secret, meaning I had not shared it with friends.  Then it kind of started being found.  Can I just say that blogging would be so much easier if it could be anonymous.  I find myself worrying about what to write for fear of being judged.  Silly, right? Anyway, back to the conversation.  She said that she would really like me to come upRead More →

We took a family road trip and found some great games to pass the time.

Jenny Louise Marie Hello friends!  How are you?  We are settling into a new year’s school routine around here.  That means we are much shorter on time.  It also means I am fondly remembering our summer vacation.  If you don’t know, we took a family road trip this year.  you can read more about that here.  I smile whenever I think of how much fun we had and all the games we played.  If you’re anything like me, then you are all about making special memories with your family and sometimes it’s the smallest things that do that.  Like playing some games. Have you everRead More →

The route & itinerary of our California & Oregon Road Trip.

Jenny Louise Marie You might remember that I posted about planning a road trip here.  Well, road trip is now done, so I thought sharing the details of our drive route might help some of you out for planning a future trip.  Soon I will share specific details for each stop as well. So, we decided that we would fly into San Francisco.  California is just too far to drive in just a week  ~ which is about all Mr. LouiseMarie can take all at one time.  We knew that there is SO much to see in the northern part of California.  There are NationalRead More →

Jenny Louise Marie Hello my friends.  I am so excited to share an awesome idea with you today.  This is something I have done in my home, and I love it!  I am sure you have walls in your home in need of some artwork.  Or maybe you’d like to add a more personal touch to your home.  Something that reflects your life and loves.  Well I have THE idea for you! There is a narrow wall in my home that overlooks my family room below.  You  can see it while sitting on my couch and every time I glance up to talk to one of myRead More →

Jenny Louise Marie Hello!  I am so glad you’ve found me.  I’ve been reading ‘how to start a blog’ posts for some time…wanting to….wondering if I could….thinking I have nothing to say….BUT ~maybe I do, maybe you wonder about the same things as me, maybe you just want to feel like you’re not alone in life’s challenges.  As a new mom (back in the dark ages) I joined a new mom’s group at my church.  This group became my lifeline as I embarked on the trip of a lifetime – motherhood.  I can’t put into words how much those friendships meant to me as well asRead More →
