I have survived son #2’s graduation, his party, and the end of the school year. It’s time for me to get back to my normal schedule. That means it’s time for me to share what I’ve been wondering about lately. You know what I mean, those random thoughts that occur to you but maybe don’t have a clear answer. So, I share those thoughts and you weigh in with what you think too. Got it? Okay, let’s get to it.
First, I will readily admit that this is a silly thing to wonder about…but then again, many of my thoughts are. Anyway, here’s what I’m wondering. Which is better, consistent (one) color walls or individualizing each room? In my last house I painted each room in it’s own color. In fact, many rooms were painted more than once. I tried to keep the colors so that they all worked together – a palette if you will. On the one hand, I loved personalizing each space. On the other hand I wondered if it became too much of a rainbow house. Then I moved into my new home. The walls are all the same color gray. I really do love it. I think it makes the house feel more spacious because nothing breaks the flow of the eye. However, I have recently been thinking about painting some spaces. I can’t decide. SO, what do you think? Any advice for me? Or do you think that this is because I’m never content with the status quo? Am I afraid to not have a project to tackle? Maybe…
Thank You Notes
Is it just me or do thank you notes seem to be a thing of the past? Does anyone else still write them when they receive a gift? I have always made my children write them as well every time they received a gift. However, I am wondering if they have gone by the wayside along with other types of hand written communication. I love to receive a hand written note; however, I know that it absolutely takes longer to do that than sending off an email or a text message. So, how do you feel about this? Do you think as long as a thank you is given, that’s enough or do you think a handwritten message is more appropriate when receiving a gift? I, for one, believe some things are always in good taste – even if they are old-fashioned. And mind you, just because I am saying old-fashioned does not suggest that I am old. We ca all agree on that, right?
Okay, this may seriously seem silly; however, I am truly wondering about this…. I love to walk – as in get out and a walk a few miles for exercise. However, I am regularly getting a serious pain on the side of my calf muscle. It is not in a place where the typical runner’s stretch gets it. It’s on the side of my leg. I have tried multiple stretches before, during, and after walking. Nothing seems to help. I also thought maybe it was like a cramp due to dehydration. SO, I consciously began getting in more water so that wouldn’t be an issue. It didn’t help. What do I do? Is there a stretch for this? Is it that my gait is off?
I don’t want to give up walking, but having to repeatedly stop to stretch or slowing down because it’s so painful is probably counter-productive. Scratch that – I cannot stop. You know, I need to get the steps in. Truly, if I already struggle to keep weight off AND I WORK at it, what would happen if I stopped working? I don’t even want to find out! Does this cause anxiety for anyone else or am I the lone obsessive person who lives in fear of not being able to exercise? Regardless, help a momma out. I would LOVE your advice.
This isn’t technically an “I wonder.” However, I am thinking about doing a post on favorite summer cocktail recipes. I have a few in mind. Still, I don’t want to overlook a really good one. Therefore, I am asking you, what’s your favorite summer cocktail? I think it’s too hot for red wine and white wine is hit and miss for me. Please share with me your favorite, refreshing summer libation. I’ll be sure to test it out and share it here. Consider me your work horse on this one… I’ll do all the work of testing and you can sit back and rest assured the recipes I share will be good. Deal?
Okay friends, I’m off to enjoy a good read in the sunshine today. What is on your agenda?
Until next time~
