Wednesday Wonderings - stuff that's on my mind and making me go hmm...

Wednesday Wonderings

Hello friends and welcome to Wednesday Wonderings #2.  I am glad you stopped by, and I hope that you will leave a comment with your thoughts on today’s things that make me go hmmm.  These are just random thoughts that I have from time to time.  Weird?  Maybe  Still, tell me not I’m alone on these.

Low Fat

Where do we stand on low-fat products?  As a person constantly on the quest to eat healthier and lose weight,  I have no idea any more.  In the past, I’ve thought – “well, let’s cut fat where we can” and purchased the low-fat options of certain products.  I’ve read though that those low-fat products are in reality not that great for you.  And in fact, we NEED fats in our diets – albeit the healthy kind.  So, what’s the final word for you?  Do you buy low-fat items or stick to the regular ‘full-fat’ options?   And, by the way, ditto on diet sodas and sugar.  Full sugar or artificial?

We all know that full fruits and veggies and water is the BEST way to eat along with lots of protein. However, can we all agree that’s not so easy?

Weight Loss

Speaking of low-fat and sugar… let’s talk weight loss.  I know this is a perpetual battle for many people, myself included.  Let’s not talk about weight loss in itself, but what I am wondering is ~ will we ever get to a place where we stop fighting and start accepting?  At any point can we just say, “it is what it is?”  I feel like at 80 years old and I’ll still worry about extra pounds and inches.  On the one hand,  feel like, stop fighting.  On the other hand  wonder what will happen if I stop fighting?  It’s a frightening proposition.  So, what do you think?

Toilet Paper

So, this is totally silly…but, why can’t men replace the toilet paper and put it on the TP holder?  I am really, this is not a challenging task.  I live in a house full of men and almost men, and to my knowledge, the TP is never replaced without me asking them to do so.  Instead, it is left to perilously balance on top of the holder.  Would a sign being posted help to remind them?

How Much Is Too Much

So, I am putting a plan together to makeover my master.  I have high hopes and not a high budget.  Know what I mean?  Anyway, I am wanting to add an accent wall (I think).  So many options…. I could easily paint this one wall.  Boom!  For about $40 I have an accent wall.  However, that is a bit blah for the look I’m going for in this room.  I found a beautiful grasscloth wallpaper in a fantastic color.  This would really make a statement.  Did I mention ~ beautiful?  There is a problem though.  This would cost approximately $300 for the one wall.  Clearly, much more expensive.  In my mind, much more beautiful as well.  So, how much is too much?  When you’re making over a space, where do you spend the bucks?  Is this a line you would or would not cross?  I would love for you to weigh in on this decision.

So, there you have it.  A sampling of just a few questions I wonder about.  Don’t forget to comment below.  Better yet –  share one of your random thoughts with me!
