Dressing Age Appropriate
As you may have read, I went to the Round Top Antiques Show this past weekend. I always have so much fun when I go. We love to shop, have girl time, and escape our everyday responsibilities. In addition, it provides some great people watching. This brings my to one of this week’s I wonder. Is there an age that a woman reaches where some clothing items are no longer an option for her? Perhaps not age appropriate? Now, I am a firm believer that age is just a number and we can hold off aging with exercise, taking good care of ourselves, and generally being healthy. Some people are blessed with excellent genes as well. Still, is it appropriate for a 60-year old woman to be wearing short shorts with cowboy boots? How about mini minis and tube tops? Does just adding a cowboy hat give you special privileges?
I’m going to own my belief on this. I say yes. There is an age where no one wants nor needs to see certain things. I also believe that a woman of a certain age needs to show class and the wisdom that comes with that age. I just think we should all outgrow the “nightclub, I’ve gotta look hot” look. Know what I mean? Do you agree? Disagree? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
As a side note, I also think that young girls should not be wearing the nightclub look either. Just sayin’.
Are you aware that I am a shoe girl? I own that label. They are one item that always fits. That and jewelry. 🙂 I have loved shoes since I was very young. I was definitely one of those little ones that was dressing up in my mom’s shoes. It is a long-standing love affair. Perhaps you have one as well? Anyway, here’s what I’m wondering… is it worth it to shell out the cash for good quality shoes rather than ones that will just do the job? I am a believer that you get what you pay for. However, some things are trendy. Maybe you just want the look but don’t intend to wear it forever. I’m not sure about this. I’ve had plantar fasciitis. I know what sore feet feel like; so, I am particular about my shoes. Still, I wonder ~ where do you stand on this? Is the designer name worth it? Are off brands just as good? I try to convince Mr. LM that they are not….
Okay, this seems to be a recurring topic that I wonder about. It’s true. Recently I was talking with little sis and we were wondering about this: how do you improve your diet if you’ve already given up whites, most carbs, sweets, soda, alcohol, etc… What’s left to give up? So, what do you do when you want to lose weight and can’t seem to make progress? What can you do if you’re already a healthy/good eater and exercising? Seriously, on this issue, I’d LOVE to hear your thoughts.
Well, sweet friends, I think that about does it for today’s wonderings. Don’t forget, to leave a comment below and you can sign up for my email list here. The good news about that is that you never have to miss a post. They come right to your inbox.
