So, like most women on planet Earth, I would like to age gracefully. I would also like to look my best and make it difficult for people to guess my age. In short, I want to avoid the inevitable wrinkles for a s long as possible. Unlike many women though, I have not been able to justify the large amount of money you have to spend to achieve these results. I have not gone down the Botox or fillers road. If you are able to utilize those products, hooray for you. So, what’s another option for us women? Wouldn’t you like to make wrinkles a thing of the past?
Well, I stumbled upon a product ~ Biotulin ~ that claims to do just that. This product is one that is used by the likes of Michelle Obama and Princess Kate Middleton. If it’s good enough for a princess, it must be good, right? Supposedly it is also gaining a “cult like following” in Hollywood as well.
I’m not one to ‘fall for’ every product that claims to defy aging. However, I’m also one not above giving it a shot. I figure if it’s less invasive than in office procedures, does not require a huge investment, and has some sort of science behind it, why not try it? So, that’s what I did.
First of all, according to the Biotulin website, here’s how this product works.
Biotulin works on several levels at once.
First, the Spilanthol, a local anaesthetic extracted from Acmella oleracea, reduces muscle contractions and relaxes your features. This reduces fine lines, particularly around the eyes and between the eyebrows. Your skin becomes noticeably smoother.
A second extract comes from Imperata cylindrica, also known as blady grass. This plant grows in the very driest of South America’s desert regions and is able to survive even on saline soils. This extract supplies the skin with moisture up to 4 hours.
The third important ingredient is Hyaluron. Hyaluron occurs naturally in the human body. With age, the body’s own collagen, a component of human connective tissue, gradually becomes less effective at regenerating and replumping the skin from within. Hyaluron’s ability to store large amounts of water relative to its mass has been scientifically proven. This characteristic helps to counter human natural ageing process and maintain the skin’s fullness. Your skin will stay healthy and beautiful.
So, I visited their site, read up on the product, and hit the order button. It didn’t hurt that I had already heard of micro needling and wanted to try it. By ordering this product, I would get to do both. So, what happened? Take a look.
Here I am on day one.
Please be kind as you look at the untouched, unedited, poor lighting, taken with a cell phone photo. This was March 22. You can see the area around my eyes is sad. Not sure if that’s me or left over makeup after washing my face. I’ve got some sun damage ~ don’t we all? Also, the lines around my mouth are my biggest issue with my face. Yikes!
So, I applied Biotulin twice a day; morning and night. I also used this little micro needling tool about twice a week at night. Supposedly, it helps with collagen production as you skin tries to repair the tiny holes you just created. I know I explained super scientifically. Still, I’m sure you get the idea.
Anyway, here I am on April 12, about three weeks into using the serum.
Clearly same poor lighting and cell phone. However, now I’ve added a blemish as well. Super, right? And where am I looking anyway? Total selfie rookie here. Anyway, is it just me or do the lines around my mouth seem a little softer? Eyes look a little better. I think overall, my face texture looks better here. Seriously though, you must ignore the scary hair… You’d think I would make a little more effort if I’m putting these photos out for the world. But no. I’m keeping it real for you.
I continued to use the serum, and here I am on May 2.
I’m still rocking the awesome hair and clearly, I suck at taking selfies. Still, what do you think? DO you think this stuff worked? Overall I feel like the lines are softer – not gone though. Were you expecting a miracle? #maybe
This post seriously took some courage on my end. How many of you would take these kind of close-ups with no makeup or anything? I’m really kind of shocked at myself. 🙂 I did it all for you ladies out there who want to fight the lines with me.
In the end, I think that maybe this stuff did provide some benefit. It’s not the priciest stuff I’ve seen – by far. Would I order it again? I think maybe I would. Unless, I found something that was even better. So, would you like to see more posts like this? Would you like me to test out more products? Let me know in the comments below. ALSO, let me know if you might be ordering some of this stuff or if you found this post helpful. I appreciate your feedback.
Until next time~
